Privacy Policy

HexCrest is a game you can play without an account. This page explains the little data the game uses, where it goes, and how to remove it.

The short version

  • No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and no data sold or shared with anyone.
  • Your progress, coins and settings stay on your device.
  • Only if you join the leaderboard do we store a nickname and your scores, and you can delete them at any time from inside the game.

Stored on your device only

Your level, coins, skins, Kingdom, missions and settings are saved on your device. We never receive them. Deleting the app deletes them.

The leaderboard (optional)

If you choose to join the leaderboard, our server stores:

  • The nickname you pick and a random number tag (like BraveFox#1234). Other players can see these.
  • Your country, worked out from your internet connection, to show a flag and a "My country" board. Your exact location is never collected.
  • Your scores, and a recording of each submitted round's steering inputs (a "replay") so we can check that scores are real. Replays are deleted within 7 days.
  • A salted one-way hash of your IP address, used only to limit spam sign-ups and reports. It is never shown to anyone.
  • Reports you send about another player's name or play, so we can review them. You can report without joining; then the report is linked to the IP hash above instead of a nickname.

Daily scores are removed after 14 days and weekly scores after 8 weeks. All-time scores stay until you delete your account.

This data is stored with Cloudflare, which runs our leaderboard server.

Deleting your data

In the game, open Settings → Delete leaderboard account and tap twice. Your nickname, scores, rounds and replays are deleted from our server straight away. You can also email us (below) and we will delete it for you.

In-app purchases

Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your name, email or payment details. The game only learns which item was bought, so it can add your coins or unlock the Crest Pack on your device.

Game Center

On iPhone and iPad, if you are signed in to Game Center, your scores are also sent to Apple's Game Center leaderboards. That is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; we do not receive your Game Center details.

Children

HexCrest is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children: the leaderboard is optional and only asks for a nickname, and nicknames are filtered for offensive words.

This website

This website and the browser version of the game use no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, keeps standard server logs to keep it running and secure.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
